Reflective Practice
Reflective Practice offers an opportunity to explore the relationship between your personal experience and professional practice.
Postpartum support is not a luxury, loving and nourishing support for mother, baby and family is essential.
Research shows that families who receive consistent postpartum support experience better outcomes across physical, emotional and relational health.
Studies have found that mothers supported by doulas or dedicated postpartum care are less likely to experience postnatal depression, have higher breastfeeding success rates, and report stronger feelings of confidence and connection in their parenting journey. In fact, one large review found that structured emotional and practical support can reduce the risk of postpartum depression by nearly 30%, while ongoing partner and community support contributes significantly to maternal wellbeing and infant development.
Postpartum care is therefore not an “extra”—it is a cornerstone of family health, ensuring mothers are nourished, babies thrive, and families feel held during one of life’s most profound transitions.

We start by getting to know each other, connecting by phone or online to discuss your postpartum care - what you’re wanting and looking for. This discussion will support you to decide whether I’m the right doula for you. This is a complimentary 30min chat - no obligation.
“I feel so grateful to have been held by her after the birth of my second child. She is warm, caring, flexible - three critical things needed during such a big time of transition. I loved her focus on feeding me - nutrition being such a thoughtful and considered way of supporting parents in postpartum. She provided space for me to share about the seismic adjustment of moving from one kiddo to two, and the reflection that flowed when thinking about my two (very different) birth experiences. There aren't really words to provide enough thanks to someone who supports for you during this raw and vulnerable time, so the best I can do is to tell everyone I love to invest in Imren's care as the best gift to themselves during their 4th trimester.”
